Mixing digital parts from different kits is a great way to create a one-of-a-kind model, but it can be tricky. Getting the scale right and making the parts look like they belong together often requires a few specific techniques.

If you’ve ever ended up with awkward clipping, mismatched parts or have given up on learning the software, you know the frustration of digital kitbashing.

This video shows you the easy workflow to create a one-of-a-kind model, perfect for building a custom force for games like One-Page Rules or Trench Crusade.

The good news is, it doesn’t have to be difficult. I’ve put together a straightforward video that walks you through the process in a completely free program called Blender.

Today I bring you two releases, first we have the Jungle Fighters – Leadership Unit with 5 distinct jungle operators. This set is fully compatible with the Jungle Fighters – Male Squad Builder and the Assault Team, so your dreams of being able to build a Jungle Fighter army in just about any pose you could imagine should be somewhat more realized now!

Secondly I bring you the long awaited Resurrected Saints – Assault Team, which you could also combine with the base set to build even more poses!

I wasn’t able to finish the Vintage Vanguard Pin-Up Girl for our Sages just yet, so I will work on that this week for a part 2 while we vote for next month’s release.

The 15^th of the month of February has come and passed, but yours truly accidentally placed the publish date of the mid-month-update-post in March – and thus there was no post. But it’s here now! The good thing about this is that I have more to show.

Just filling you in on the latest developments. I’ve managed to figure out how to make the Resurrected Saints models kneel properly and am nearly done on their Assault Team, I will include it in the coming release.

I’ve also started the Jungle Fighters – Leadership Unit which will fill out more options from what is currently missing in the troop builder set such as a bolter, flag, powerfist, etc.

Our Sages wanted a spicy pin-up girl from the Vintage Vanguard, which I have gathered some fun references for. Sadly no W.I.P. for this model just yet.

NEWS

At the start of next month I am planning to upgrade my MyMiniFactory store subscription to Studio in the hopes to establish myself as a proper creator in the miniature scene. So you may find me in the newsletters or perhaps even the front page? We’ll see!

I have a youtube tutorial in the works on some tips on how to quickly combine kitbashing objects in Blender, from for example my Blender Asset Pack. I’ll show how to effortlessly move stuff around in the viewport and position objects in 3d space.

We’ve eliminated some of the suggestions from our Discord Suggestions list due to extreme low votes, and I’m trying to keep the total amount at the 10 most popular suggestions. From now on I’ll also use more of my own discretion to add newer suggestions. I think my models are overall higher quality if I’m interested in making them.

I come to you on this all holy first day of the month of February with a tithe of units.

First for our Scholars, I deliver thee the Vintage Vanguard:

“The Vingtage Vanguard, a regiment forged in the fires of forgotten wars, clad in retro-fitted regalia that are tried and true. Old-school tactics and turning the tide against impossible odds are their bread and butter. They are a testament to the enduring might of the past in a galaxy obsessed with the new.”

Second for our Sages, I bring thee the Galactic High Commander:

“The Galactic High Commander stood atop the ridge, his silhouette framed by the dying light of a binary sun, his gaze imperiously sweeping over the ranks of his assembled troops. Clad in ornate, gilded armor and a flowing cape that billowed in the ash-filled wind, he raised his relic meatsaw, its blade growling with ancient power, as if daring the cosmos itself to challenge his authority. Below, thousands of soldiers stood at attention, their loyalty unwavering, their spirits ignited by the mere presence of their legendary leader. As the first shots of the coming battle lit the horizon, the High Commander’s voice boomed across the battlefield: “For the glory of all Mankind, we rise—today, we carve our legacy into the stars!”

These were both loads of fun to sculpt and I learned a bunch of new techniques that I can’t wait to make a tutorial about! I didn’t have the steam to really go overboard with the High Commander’s weapons, but I still think I did a good enough job on his armor and general look. I made sure to make him somewhat modular so you can play around with the pose that you like best.

I’ve decided to go back on the rendering technique I’ve been using in the past rather than this blown out white and blue one, it’s just not that appealing to look like – I think this style fits better.

Sadly I wasn’t able to fit the Resurrected Saints – Assault Teams into this release, so I’ll take the next two weeks to finish those in a part 2 while we vote for next month’s release. It is the 15^th of January and I am here to report to my gracious benefactors about the current state of affairs. Today I begin on the projects that we have voted for. I will attempt to capture the classical trooper look from the Outlaw Merchant era in modern proportions for our Scholars. Our Sages have voted on Alexander the Great in the sci-fi era for a Lord Solar proxy. And as a bonus I will try to create the Assault Teams for the Resurrected Saints if time allows it!

Yesterday I uploaded a video at the request of the community, some people asked for a video on how to easily re-pose your fully merged STL files, which I was glad to create! You can find that here.

If you have a topic regarding 3d printing that you’d like a tutorial on, make sure to let me know! Making these guides is a fun change when I’m stuck in the creative process.

With the beginning of 2025 I have made some changes to the Proxy Sage Tier:

At the Proxy Sage tier, you’ll receive:

• All of the perks of the Proxy Scholar tier

• Every month you may suggest and vote for ONE (1) EXTRA MODEL which I will design and release for the next month, exclusive to Sage tier subscribers.

• A VOTING WEIGHT is more than doubled compared to the Scholar tier, allowing you to have a higher impact when voting on the monthly releases poll. The voting weights will be: 1 for public vote, 1,5 for Scholar vote, 3,5 for Sage vote. This will allow Sages to veto releases under certain circumstances if they were to band together.

I did this in a daring bid to get you to up your funding while receiving extra privileges and benefits! This will remain until I feel confident enough to do at least two fully fledged releases per month, at which point I will have to increase prices for both tiers. I want to remind you that you’ll always keep your current subscription tier pricing as long as you remain subscribed, even through price changes.

Sadly I have to cancel the ProxyBrewer Miniature Painting Competition #5 – January 2025 due to a lack of entries. It was a bit of a long shot to host it in the winter, but I tried it anyways! Nevertheless, the prize money ($60) will be saved for next time and we’ll restart the painting competitions when we begin nearing the slightly warmer months.

It is the 15^th of December and per our contract I am obligated to report to you my progress! The past two weeks I’ve nearly finished up the Krylovians Descendants and Male – Jungle Fighters Assault Teams, those need just a bit of cleanup but will be released in January as planned. I’ve also nearly finished the End of Year Sage tier reward; Commander Muskrat needs just a few more finishing touches before he is ready for release, also planned to release in January 2025.

We’ve voted for Deuterium Soldiers – Rough Riders in the Discord polls, which I will promptly begin making in the final half of this month. Rather than horses, I’ve set my eyes on Mono-tracked Tank Bikes due to their cool industrial look and historically accurate ground traversal. Horses are still on the menu in the future, but for now our community has voted for bikes.
